Radical cross-stitch is part of the craftivist movement, showing that feminist activism can take many forms, including craft. The workshops want to bring forth cross-stitch as an art form, show its versatility, as well as its ability to be political and radical. The gatherings follow the form of feminist sewing circles, being also a place for relaxed socializing and discussion.
The new Finnish government started its term in June. The government programme, a 250 page document, is an important frame directing the Finnish politics for the next four years.
